Miller Cattle and Lawman  Farms                        Columbia MO
Chuck Miller  (573) 474-1768

E.F. and Dorothy Lawman founded Lawman Farms more than 50 years ago in rural Boone County
near Columbia, Missouri. The farm raised purebred Gelbvieh cattle for more than 40 years.

It has always been their goal to produce functional cattle that work for commercial cattlemen in
central Missouri.  While these cattle have not been heavily promoted, they have been successfully
used by other Gelbvieh breeders.  Among their notable accomplishments is breeding the dam of
Mississippi Gambler, a heavily used bull in the mid-1990's, who still records above breed average
calving ease and growth.

Chuck Miller moved to Lawman Farms in 1993 as a managing partner.  He purchased cows from Dr.
Jerry Lipsey, adding Simmental and Angus genetics to the farm.  Since then, the farm has also
incorporated Red Angus genetics to create powerful Balancer® and SimAngus hybrid cattle.

Today, Lawman Farms and Miller Cattle Co. offer purebred Simmental and Gelbvieh genetics as
well as SimAngus and Balancer® hybrids.  The purebreds have worked very well on straightbred
Angus commercial herds to add hybrid vigor, muscle and growth.  The hybrid bulls make
crossbreeding easy.  Hybrid bulls are a simple way to manage breed composition and increase
uniformity in a crossbreeding program.

The ultimate goal of Lawman Farms and Miller Cattle Co. is to provide bulls with the phenotype and
EPDs for commercial cattlemen to build profitable cowherds.
